Carmen Ferreri, who performs as simply Carmen, was born in Trapani on December 9, 1999. From a very young age, she was noticed for her excellent vocal and interpretative skills. In 2015 she debuted in duo with Lucrezia Benigno at Area Sanremo, interpreting the song “Sogna” and was one of eight finalists, capturing the keen interest of critics, media and professionals. In July 2017 she took part in the prestigious Premio Lunezia, the festival dedicated to the value of ‘musical-literary’ songs, performing in the last evening dedicated to great artists.
In August of the same year she was selected to participate in the second edition of the Lelio Luttazzi Prize, broadcast on prime time on Rai1 from the historic Blue Note club in Milan. On this occasion she performed her own song “Io” (I). The jury, chaired by Pippo Baudo and composed of Rita Marcotulli, Fio Zanotti and Paolo Giordano, were impressed by her voice and personality and named her first in the young songwriters category. She performed on the final evening with Amara, Arisa, Chiara, Elodie, Marco Masini, Simona Molinari, Fabrizio Moro, Roberto Vecchioni and Nina Zilli.
In October 2017, after having passed numerous try-outs, Carmen entered the school of Friends of Maria De Filippi. She became one of the protagonists of the seventeenth edition of the famous Italian talent show, reaching the finals and winning second place.
In June 2018, almost as if to cap off that experience and open a new phase of her career, she released her album “La Complicità” (Complicity), distributed by Universal Music Italia, which immediately reached third place in the FIMI ranking of Italy’s top-selling records.
Currently Carmen is on tour, with dates throughout Italy.
She is also working on a new album, which is scheduled for release in 2019.
