Winner of many platinum albums, saxophonist, producer and author, Curtis Stigers has released a new album, Hooray for Love (Concorde / Universal), in April 2014 and started his world tour soon after.
Curtis Stigers has made its first appearances on the scene in the early 90s with his hits I Wonder Why and You’re All That Matters to Me, which over the years have become soul classics. His interpretation of What’s So Funny ‘Bout Peace Love and Understanding of Nick Lowe is part of the famous soundtrack of the film The Bodyguard (with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner), who has sold over 40 million copies.
Over the years, Curtis Stigers has performed and recorded pieces with Eric Clapton, Elton John, Prince, Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker, George Benson, The Allman Brothers Band and many more.
Lately, Stigers wrote and reinterpreted the theme song of cult TV series like Sons of Anarchy, for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award.
Since 2001, Curtis Stigers is following a path as first class jazz singer and boasts seven albums and several awards: in 2003 his album You Inspire Me was the winner of ‘Jazz Album of the Year’ for the London Times, in 2007 he was named ‘Jazz Artist of the Year’ by BBC Radio 2, while in 2010 he won the prize of German Jazz Echo in the category ‘Best international jazz singer man’.
He has performed in many of the major international jazz festivals and in clubs symbol of this genre worldwide. Stigers holds concerts in all major theatres of the Atlantic countries.
