Since their first album, Springtime coming (2009), Mountain Men pursue their route, paved with rock, folk and blues.
Unshackled by artistic limits, their only concerns are energy and émotion. Widely spread influences, from Metallica to Bob Dylan, passing by Georges Brassens and Tom Waits, make Mountain Men a group apart and originai, with an acute sense of showmanship. Mat, coming from the French Alps near Grenoble, and Iano from Australias east coast, the duo have won themselves a faithful following on the strength of 600 shows in Europe and North America, combined with 3 studio and 2 live albums. 18 months after the intense Against the wind which revealed a much more electric side to the duo, and 80 shows in 2015 including Musilac, Beauregard and Les Déferlantes, Mountain Men are back in force, and this time they are not alone: revealing a dimension resolutely rock where we find Denis Barthe, the well know drummer from Noir Désir, producing and playing, as well as bassist Olivier Mathios (The Hyènes). Este/le Humeau (Eiffen on keyboards, Hervé Toukour from the Very Big Small Orchestra (violin),and Jean Paul Roy (Noir Désir) on guitar all add their spécial touches to the album, completing this unprecedented quartet. Black Market Flowers opens a new era for Mountain men, paradoxically even more persona!.
lt comes down to emotional turmoil, friends disappeared, anger and love, rock and energy.
